Our Methods
What approaches do we take to uncover information and
artefacts?
We use a number of different methods to glean as much
information as we can. The list on the right outlines some of the
approaches we take. We are an amateur group but we would like to think
we approach the subject in as professional a manner as we can.
The one description that we avoid at all costs is
'treasure hunting'. That's not what we do, although being
realistic, there is a possibility that something valuable could be
uncovered. In that case, any artefact is dealt with according to
the laws governing treasure trove and of course the landowner is
involved in the whole process and is aware of all that is happening.
